Welcome to my brand-new blog: Positive Glamour. 2017 was a big year for my original blog, Positively Weightless and I strived to keep up with goals and stick with a frequent posting schedule. This year there is a new goal. A brand-new page in addition to Positively Weightless to talk about something else I love to talk about in my life: beauty and makeup, but
with my own little spin on things to stay tied in with my mission with my other page. I want to take this first post to explain my intentions with this page and give a little history of my experiences with makeup.
A few years ago, I started getting into makeup. I would always watch the influencers on YouTube and became inspired to try out new looks all the time. Prior to this, I wore the same exact look daily pretty much all through high school and
college. Black eyeliner, mascara, and foundation to cover up my acne and skin issues. My knowledge of makeup was very scarce. I used it more as a cover for my insecurities than I did as a form of art that I do because I enjoy it. I will get a little deeper
into this, but for now I will just say it is very empowering once you finally learn you do not need the makeup to be beautiful.
Over the past years I have grown into such a positive person and I of course am hoping to share that with the world in this new page just like my first page. Beauty is more important when it comes from the inside. Confidence will not
come from the makeup itself, but makeup surely can enhance it slightly. I am a fairly confident person. I feel this way with or without makeup, but I know on the days I really like how my makeup turns out I have that little extra boost of confidence that day.
I also feel completely fine leaving the house without a drop of makeup on my face. I am hoping to help others feel this way. Although this is going to be a makeup themed page, I still want the message to come across that you absolutely do not need makeup to
be beautiful. Makeup should be used as an enhancement rather than a crutch.
In the future posts of this page I have a few plans. I will review much of the collection I already own. This of course means it will not be the newest, latest release from all the top brands. I want to lean more toward reviewing more drugstore
brands over high end brands as well. My goal is to show products that are more in the price range of the average person rather than showing all these products that most people cannot afford to buy all of them for one look. With that being said I may do a post
here and there that are tutorials as well. Skincare is something else I want to share in this page. I have come a long way in my skincare journey so I want to review products and share my routines as well. I may even share a post, like I did in my other page,
about my journey through acne. I'm also planning on reviewing specific products and comparing them to how they perform on my combo/oily, acne prone skin. That goes for both skincare and makeup. Finally, I want to keep up with the positivity throughout this page. A random
positive post about beauty can be expected as well. This is my game plan for right now, but I most likely will add or change things as I go.
This new page (as my other) is more for a hobby and a new way for me to keep writing. I wanted to expand my writing this year and my friends Nicole and Trina encouraged me to try out a new blog about makeup. I thought it was such a fun idea. I will be posting once every other week on this page to start, alternating weeks with my original page. So here is to the future of this page and the growth that comes with it. I am excited to see how it goes!
